Mumbai: Salman Khan celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with his family on Wednesday in Mumbai.

In an Instagram clip shared by the actor, Salman was seen performing aarti along with his parents, Salma and Salim Khan. The video opened with a beautifully decorated Ganpati idol. Salma Khan led the aarti, followed by veteran lyricist Salim Khan, after which Salman, dressed in a black shirt and beige pants, offered prayers to Lord Ganesha as a Ganpati song played in the background.

The celebration continued with Salman’s siblings and extended family, including Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan, Alvira Khan, Alizeh Agnihotri, Arpita, Aayush Sharma, and their sons Ahil and Ayat Sharma. Bollywood couple Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza, along with their children, also joined the festivities.

Salman was not the only celebrity marking the occasion. Several others gathered at Rakul Preet Singh and Jackky Bhagnani’s Mumbai residence for a special puja. The couple, married in February last year, hosted a mix of film stars and cricketers in a celebration that combined tradition with glamour.

Ananya Panday was among the first to arrive, wearing a long kurta with subtle golden embroidery and a scalloped border, paired with white flowy bottoms and a matching dupatta. Her look was complemented by soft waves and simple juttis. Riteish and Genelia added a Maharashtrian touch—Riteish in a white kurta-pyjama with a deep red Nehru jacket, and Genelia in a red and black silk saree with golden borders and traditional jewelry.

India’s cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar also shared glimpses of his Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations on X, writing, “Festivals feel more special when celebrated together, as a family with tradition, and with love. Ganpati Bappa Morya.” He was seen performing pooja with his family. Bollywood actors Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha also shared their celebrations on Instagram.

Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated across India with the installation of Lord Ganesha idols at homes, fasting, preparing festive delicacies, and visiting pandals. Devotees gather in large numbers at temples and mandals to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha.
