Srinagar: Authorities on Friday morning issued a fresh traffic advisory, confirming that the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway remains closed due to extensive damage between Jakheni and Chenani.

Commuters have been strictly advised not to travel on the highway until restoration work is completed and the road is made traffic-worthy. The advisory also urged people not to fall prey to rumors.

Meanwhile, traffic is moving smoothly on the Mughal Road and Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri (SSG) Road, in line with earlier advisories. The Sinthan route has been opened for light motor vehicles only, as directed by the NHIDCL.

Authorities further appealed to commuters to follow lane discipline, cautioning that overtaking may lead to traffic congestion.
