JAMMU: The Jammu-Srinagar national highway was reopened on Saturday, but only for stranded vehicles, after remaining closed for four days due to multiple landslides and the collapse of a 60-meter stretch in Udhampur district following record rainfall earlier this week, a senior official said.

Normal traffic has not yet resumed on the 250-km all-weather highway that connects Kashmir with the rest of the country.

Shubam, Project Director of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) in Ramban, said efforts are underway to reopen the highway fully for regular traffic as soon as possible.
