Jammu: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday chaired a high-level meeting on flood relief measures at the Raj Bhawan after touring several flood-affected areas of the winter capital, officials said.
The meeting was attended by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma, and senior officials from the civil administration, police, paramilitary, and army.
Earlier, Shah, accompanied by Sinha, Abdullah, and Sharma, visited the Tawi Bridge near Bikram Chowk and Manguchak near Jammu airport to assess the damage caused by last week’s flash floods triggered by record rainfall in the region.
