JAMMU: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday reviewed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, reaffirming the Centre’s zero-tolerance stance against terrorism.

During the meeting, he directed all security agencies to remain vigilant and operate in a coordinated manner to effectively counter terrorist activities in the Union Territory.

The meeting, held at Raj Bhavan, was attended by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary, Director of IB, Chief Secretary, DGP of Jammu and Kashmir, heads of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and other senior officials, an official spokesman said.

While assessing the security environment, Shah commended the UT administration and security agencies for ensuring the smooth conduct of this year’s annual Shri Amarnath Yatra, which saw over 4 lakh pilgrims visiting the shrine in South Kashmir.

He also lauded the efforts of security forces in relief and rescue operations following recent flash floods in the region and assured continued support from the CAPFs in managing natural disasters, the spokesman added.
