Mumbai: The much-awaited first song ‘Bijuria’ from Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s upcoming film Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is finally out.
A day after teasing its release, the makers dropped the track on Wednesday, reviving Sonu Nigam’s iconic chartbuster in a high-energy, modern avatar. With Varun and Janhvi’s electrifying dance moves, the reimagined number is set to become a party and wedding season favourite.
The music video also stars Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf, hinting at pre-wedding festivities within the film’s storyline.
Recreated, composed, and produced by Tanishk Bagchi, the track blends nostalgia with freshness, thanks to the playful vocals of Asees Kaur. The original was composed by Ravi Pawar with lyrics by Sonu Nigam and Ajay Jhingran.
Reflecting on this revival, Sonu Nigam said in a press note: “Bijuria is one of those songs that has lived many lives. When we first recorded it, I never imagined it would stay evergreen for so long. Revisiting it now feels like a full-circle moment, and I’m grateful my original vocals still resonate in this new version.”
Varun Dhawan also shared his excitement: “There’s a vibe we’ve all grown up dancing to, but this version has a fresh, crazy energy that matches the madness of our film and makes you want to dance.”
Calling it a “huge responsibility,” Tanishk Bagchi added that his aim was to preserve the essence of the original while giving it a contemporary touch: “It’s both a tribute and a celebration, something that bridges generations.”
Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari stars Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Rohit Saraf, Sanya Malhotra, and Maniesh Paul. The film is slated for a worldwide release on October 2, 2025.
