NEW DELHI: KP Group on Wednesday announced a partnership with South Korea’s AHES and GH2 Solar Ltd to set up and operate a green ammonia production facility in India with an annual capacity of 100,000 metric tonnes.

The collaboration has been formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between KPI Green Hydrogen & Ammonia Pvt Ltd (KPI GH), a KP Group company, AHES Co Ltd, and GH2 Solar Ltd, the company said in a statement.

Under the agreement, the facility will produce and supply 100,000 TPA of green ammonia, with AHES and GH2 responsible for arranging offtake agreements. AHES will also act as a direct offtaker. Pricing will be linked to international ammonia benchmarks to ensure competitive positioning.

The partnership spans 15 years and reinforces KP Group’s long-term commitment to advancing sustainable energy.

“This partnership exemplifies KP Group’s vision to lead clean energy innovation in India and abroad,” said Faruk Patel, Chairman and Managing Director of KP Group. He added, “With KPI GH operating the facility and strategic support from AHES and GH2, we are setting new benchmarks in green ammonia production and global collaboration.”

KPI GH will develop and run the facility, while AHES and GH2 will provide technical and strategic backing, including facilitating offtake deals for exports to South Korea, Japan, and other international markets.

The project will rely on renewable energy and infrastructure solutions supplied by KP Group entities such as KPI Green Energy Ltd, KP Energy Ltd, and KP Green Engineering Ltd, ensuring a sustainable, low-carbon feedstock for ammonia production.

With over three decades of experience in renewable energy, KP Group currently has more than 1.9 GW of installed power capacity and 3.9 GW under development.
