Jammu: A landslide struck the track of the suspended Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrimage in Reasi district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Wednesday, officials reported, with no casualties.
As a precaution against heavy rains and potential landslides, authorities also vacated officials’ accommodations.
The slide occurred at the Sammar Point, blocking the route to the shrine. Since there were no pilgrims on the track, no one was injured. Teams are working to clear the debris.
The pilgrimage remained suspended for the ninth consecutive day, leaving the Katra base camp largely deserted.
