Jammu Schools to Stay Closed Until September 5: DSEJ

Srinagar,: The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) on Wednesday announced the closure of all government and private schools across Jammu division until September 5 due to adverse weather conditions.

“In continuation of order DSEJ/GEN/46208-46 dated 02.09.2025, and in light of the weather alert issued by the IMD, as well as ongoing heavy rains, landslides, flash floods, and severe waterlogging in low-lying areas, all government and private schools in Jammu division shall remain closed until 05.09.2025 to ensure the safety of students and staff,” the order issued by Director School Education Jammu, Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, stated.

The order also directs that online classes should be conducted wherever possible to maintain educational continuity.
