Srinagar: At least seven Kashmir residents are feared dead after a massive landslide struck Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district, officials said on Thursday.
According to authorities, all the victims, who were working as laborers in Himachal, hailed from Tulail in Bandipora. Rescue operations are currently underway.
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) reported that the landslide caused the collapse of two houses, leaving around 12–13 people trapped. “An NDRF team conducted collapsed structure search and rescue (CSSR) operations, rescuing three injured individuals and recovering one body. Efforts continue to locate the remaining trapped victims,” the force posted on X.
Expressing condolences, the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister’s office stated on X that all possible assistance is being provided to those affected.
