Mumbai: The release of Shehnaaz Gill’s highly anticipated Punjabi film Ikk Kudi has been postponed due to the devastating floods in Punjab. Torrential rains have submerged large areas, displacing thousands, damaging homes, and destroying crops.
Originally scheduled for a September 19 release, the film will now hit theatres on October 31.
Shehnaaz shared the update with fans on Instagram, posting the film’s poster along with a statement explaining the decision. The team cited the “unexpected and severe flood situation” as the reason for the delay and emphasized their commitment to supporting those affected.
“The entire team of Ikk Kudi has decided to postpone the release of the film to 31st October 2025 due to the unexpected and severe flood situation across several regions of Punjab. We feel it is our responsibility to stand with our people during these challenging times. The Ikk Kudi team is in touch with various NGOs and, with God’s grace, will do our best to support Punjab. WE STAND WITH PUNJAB,” the statement read.
Produced under the banners of Raaya Picturez, Amor Films, and Shehnaaz Gill Productions, Ikk Kudi is produced by Kaushal Joshi, Amarjit Singh Saron, and Shehnaaz herself. Written and directed by Amarjit Singh Saron, the film will see a worldwide release through Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The project was first announced last November, with glimpses from the initial shooting day released at the time.
The floods have affected 23 districts in Punjab, impacting over 350,000 people.
