LG Manoj Sinha thanks PM Modi, Union MoS AYUSH for 35 Ayurveda PG seats at GAMC Akhnoor
SRINAGAR,: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha has expressed deep gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Minister of State (I/C), Ministry of AYUSH, Shri Prataprao Jadhav for sanctioning 35 Ayurveda PG seats for the Government Ayurvedic Medical College (GAMC), Akhnoor.
Sharing the development on X, the Lt Governor wrote:
“Heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji and Union MoS (I/C), Ministry of AYUSH, Shri Prataprao Jadhav Ji for granting 35 Ayurveda PG Seats for Govt Ayurvedic Medical College, Akhnoor. This is the first for J&K and a huge gift for aspirants of Ayurveda practices in the UT.”
The Lt Governor highlighted that seven new PG degree programmes with 35 seats at GAMC Akhnoor will further strengthen J&K’s healthcare infrastructure and promote the traditional system of medicine.
He observed that Ayurveda, as a holistic healing system, has gained global recognition, with people worldwide embracing its techniques for physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, as well as disease management.
“The addition of PG programmes will boost human resource development in Ayurveda, enhance research and collaborations, and contribute to preventive and holistic healthcare in the Union Territory,” the Lt Governor added.
