Renault India to Cut Vehicle Prices Up to Rs 96,395 Following GST Rate Revision

New Delhi: Renault India announced on Saturday that it will reduce vehicle prices by up to Rs 96,395, passing on the full benefit of the recent GST rate cut to customers. The GST Council earlier this week approved a simplified tax structure with slabs of 5% and 18%, effective from September 22.

The new pricing will apply to all deliveries made on or after September 22, 2025, coinciding with the start of Navratri. Customers can, however, begin booking Renault vehicles at the revised prices immediately at dealerships nationwide.

“Passing on the full GST 2.0 benefit reflects our commitment to our customers. We believe this timely initiative will make our cars more accessible and boost demand during the festive season,” said Venkatram Mamillapalle, MD of Renault India.

Renault said the price cuts significantly enhance the value of its refreshed lineup, including the Triber and Kiger, and are expected to drive strong momentum during the festive period. Prices for the entry-level Kwid will drop by up to Rs 55,095, Triber by Rs 80,195, and Kiger by up to Rs 96,395.

This follows Tata Motors’ announcement on Friday of price reductions ranging from Rs 65,000 to Rs 1.45 lakh on its passenger vehicles, also effective September 22, to pass on the GST benefit to buyers.

Under the revised GST structure:

Petrol, LPG, and CNG vehicles under 1,200 cc and 4,000 mm length, and diesel vehicles up to 1,500 cc and 4,000 mm, will move to an 18% tax slab from the previous 28%.

Motorcycles up to 350 cc will be taxed at 18% instead of 28%.

Vehicles above 1,200 cc or longer than 4,000 mm, motorcycles over 350 cc, and racing cars will attract a 40% GST.

Small hybrid cars benefit from the lower rate, while electric vehicles remain at 5%.
