Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir witnessed celebrations of Milad-un-Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad, on Saturday.
Thousands of devotees gathered at Srinagar’s Hazratbal shrine, home to the Prophet’s sacred relics, which were displayed by the shrine’s custodian after prayers, an official said.
The Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board, responsible for managing the shrine, had made all necessary arrangements for the devotees.
The Hazratbal shrine, along with several other mosques, was beautifully decorated and illuminated to mark the occasion, the official added.
