SRINAGAR: In a show of solidarity and compassion, the High Court today donated Rs. 54,40,500 to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to aid the rehabilitation and welfare of those affected by the recent devastating floods in the region.
The contribution, presented formally to the Chief Minister, reflects the heartfelt support of the entire judicial fraternity. While modest in amount, the Court emphasized that collective action is vital to restore normalcy and rebuild lives in the flood-affected areas.
The donation underscores the institution’s commitment to public welfare. The recent floods displaced numerous families and caused extensive damage to property and livelihoods, deeply affecting the socio-economic fabric of the Union Territory. Recognizing the severity of the situation, the High Court expressed empathy for the affected families and assured that every effort will be made to support them during this difficult time.
This gesture by the Judiciary of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh highlights not only compassion but also the principle that unity and shared responsibility are crucial in overcoming adversity.
