LG Manoj Sinha reviews National Highway restoration works during Udhampur visit

UDHAMPUR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today visited Thard village in Udhampur to review the ongoing restoration works on National Highway-44.

During the visit, Shri R.S. Yadav, NHAI Regional Officer, J&K, briefed the Lieutenant Governor on the deployment of men and machinery to ensure speedy restoration. He informed that work is being carried out round the clock and one lane of the highway will be opened for traffic shortly.

The Lieutenant Governor also interacted with affected families to enquire about their wellbeing.

Earlier in the day, he inspected a health camp set up by the Health Department at Gujjar Bakerwal Hostel, Jakhani, Udhampur, and reviewed the medical facilities provided to flood-affected families.

He was accompanied by Shri Balwant Singh Mankotia, MLA Chenani; Shri Pawan Kumar Gupta, MLA Udhampur West; Shri Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Jammu; Shri Bhim Sen Tuti, IGP Jammu; Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Secretary Health & Medical Education; Ms. Sarah Rizvi, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range; Ms. Saloni Rai, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur; Shri Amod Nagpure Ashok, SSP Udhampur, besides other senior officers.
