DODA/JAMMU: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) activists and supporters staged protests in Doda and other areas of Jammu and Kashmir following the detention of their MLA, Mehraj Malik, under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA). The demonstrations took place amid a heavy deployment of police and paramilitary forces in the district.
Malik, the Doda MLA and president of J-K’s AAP unit, was taken into custody on Monday under the PSA for allegedly disrupting public order and was later lodged in Kathua district jail.
Hundreds of supporters, chanting slogans demanding Malik’s release, marched from Bhatyas village towards Doda town.
