Mumbai: Emotions ran high in the latest episode of Bigg Boss 19 when contestant Tanya Mittal broke down on national television after a nomination task took a deeply personal turn.
During the challenge, Tanya and Gaurav Khanna were tasked with refraining from pressing a buzzer for 19 minutes while fellow contestants tried to distract them. It was during this task that Kunickaa Sadanand made a cutting remark, claiming Tanya’s mother had “not taught her anything.” The comment visibly shook Tanya. Though she completed the task, the moment triggered an emotional breakdown shortly afterward.
Opening up to the housemates, Tanya recounted her traumatic childhood, revealing that her father “used to beat” her while her mother tried to protect her. She spoke about having to fight for even basic freedoms, like wearing a saree or stepping outside. Tanya also disclosed that she was nearly forced into marriage at the age of 19, an experience that left her feeling so trapped she “wanted to die.”
“My father used to beat me, and my mother would save me. I started my business with great difficulty. I needed permission to wear a saree or even step outside. I was 19 when they almost got me married off… I wanted to die,” she shared.
Her candid confession moved several contestants, including Gaurav Khanna, Amaal Mallik, Zeishan Quadri, and Pranit More, who called out Kunickaa for making an “insensitive” remark.
As Bigg Boss 19 approaches its one-month mark, the season continues to intensify with dramatic twists, challenging tasks, daily conflicts, and emotional revelations. The recent Weekend Ka Vaar episode also introduced Shehnaaz Gill’s brother, Shehbaz Badesha, as the season’s first wildcard entrant.
Bigg Boss 19 airs on Colors TV and is available for streaming on JioHotstar.
