Jammu: Police on Wednesday busted a drug-peddling module in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district and arrested four people, officials said.
During routine checking, a police team intercepted a car at Sool Kakryal area and recovered heroin from it. The vehicle was being driven by Vikas Sharma, with three others — Amit Sharma, Babloo Sharma, and Amit Kumar — on board.
All four were taken into custody, and a case was registered at Katra police station, officials confirmed.
Police added that three of the accused are “hardcore, notorious offenders” already involved in eight previous cases.
The arrests and recovery, officials said, mark a significant blow to narcotics smuggling networks in the region.
