Srinagar: Cyber Police Issue Warning Against ‘Zupedia’ Investment Scam

The Cyber Police Srinagar has alerted the public to a potential online investment scam being operated through the mobile app ‘Zupedia’ and the website Zupedia.com.

According to the advisory, users are initially encouraged to register on the platform and rate online content. They receive small payments for completing simple tasks, which builds trust. Once confidence is gained, fraudsters persuade users to invest larger sums ranging from Rs 1,950 to Rs 24,000, promising higher returns.

“After users make significant investments, they reportedly find themselves unable to withdraw their funds, and the individuals behind the platform disappear, causing financial losses,” the advisory said.

The Cyber Police have urged citizens to remain cautious and avoid such schemes. Victims are advised to file complaints at www.cybercrime.gov.in or contact the helpline at 1930.
