Kishtwar: The District Magistrate of Kishtwar on Friday announced a temporary suspension of traffic on the Kishtwar–Dul Road at KM 8.50 (near RR Camp) to facilitate the blasting of a large boulder that had blocked the road after recent torrential rains.

As per the order issued by District Magistrate Pankaj Kumar Sharma, vehicular movement on this stretch will remain closed on 13 September 2025 between 1:30 pm and 3:00 pm to allow safe execution of the blasting operation. The work, scheduled by the concerned agency, aims to clear the obstruction and restore smooth passage for heavy vehicles.

The Officer Commanding, 118 RCC (GREF), has been tasked with ensuring timely completion of the blasting work while adopting all necessary safety measures. The Senior Superintendent of Police, Kishtwar, will supervise strict enforcement of the order.

The District Magistrate also directed the District Information Officer to widely publicize the restriction through print, electronic, and social media so that commuters can plan their travel accordingly.
