RAMBAN: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, along with Senior Superintendent of Police Arun Gupta, today reviewed traffic regulation and the condition of the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44). DySP Traffic, Sajjad Khan, also joined the inspection.

The DC visited Nashri to assess vehicular movement, identify bottlenecks, and ensure smooth traffic flow on the highway, a key lifeline connecting Jammu with Kashmir. He held discussions with officers and agencies to devise strategies for strengthening traffic management, reducing congestion, and improving coordination.

Emphasizing the need for timely measures, the DC called for hassle-free travel for commuters on NH-44.

Later, he inspected the ongoing construction of a Bailey Bridge on the Karol–Maitra–Gool road at Bhatti, being executed by the Army. He interacted with Army engineers and reviewed progress, while directing the NHAI to remove bottlenecks on the highway at the earliest.
