LG Emphasizes Linguistic Harmony for National Unity and Inclusive Growth
VARANASI, UTTAR PRADESH: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today addressed the ‘Bhartiya Bhasha Samagam’ organized by the Hindusthan Samachar Group at Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi.
In his keynote address, the LG highlighted the importance of linguistic harmony, mutual respect, and understanding of India’s diverse languages and dialects as essential for fostering national unity and inclusive development.
“A linguistically harmonious society lays the foundation for rapid socio-economic growth, strengthens social bonds, and promotes equality. Linguistic diversity not only preserves our cultural heritage but also enables citizens to contribute meaningfully to nation-building,” he said.

Shri Sinha observed that under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is emerging as a major economic power while reclaiming its historical and cultural prominence. He referred to the Prime Minister’s Panch Pran as a roadmap for the nation’s future—a call for citizens to embrace our heritage and work collectively towards the vision of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’.
The LG urged linguistic scholars, researchers, and writers to create systems that make India’s vast ancient knowledge accessible in all mother tongues through school curricula and libraries, enabling youth to connect deeply with their heritage.
He highlighted the role of the National Education Policy-2020 in promoting multilingualism, particularly through the use of mother tongue or regional languages as the medium of instruction in early education. “Our aim should be to ensure every Indian language reaches its full potential. By weaving together our linguistic diversity, we can foster a developed and culturally rich India,” he stated.
Shri Sinha also stressed the significance of the mother tongue in child development. “Teaching children in their native language, while also learning other languages, cultivates capable, creative, and innovative individuals. Leveraging our linguistic diversity can accelerate progress across art, technology, and other fields. India’s unique strength lies in this very diversity,” he added.
During the event, scholars were felicitated for their contributions to promoting Indian languages. Distinguished attendees included Dr. Neelkanth Tiwari, MLA Varanasi South; Shri Atul Bhai Kothari, Educationist and National Secretary, Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas; Shri Arvind Mardikar, Chairman, Hindusthan Samachar Group; Prof. Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi, Vice Chancellor, Banaras Hindu University; Prof. Anand Kumar Tyagi, Vice Chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith; Dr. Pradeep Baba Madhok, Director, Hindusthan Samachar Group; along with members of the Hindusthan Samachar Group and eminent personalities from various fields.
