IIM Jammu organizes roundtable conference in Pune to boost academia-industry collaboration

Pune: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu organized a roundtable conference in Pune to strengthen collaboration between academia and industry.

The event, held on Saturday, brought together policymakers, academicians, and corporate leaders to discuss workforce transformation and the impact of technology on future talent.

The conference was inaugurated by Padmashri Dr. Milind P. Kamble, Chairman of the Board of Governors, IIM Jammu, along with Prof. B. S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu.

Calling the initiative a vital step toward meaningful collaboration, Dr. Kamble emphasized that academic institutions must not function in isolation but instead co-create sustainable and innovative solutions with industry. He highlighted climate change, digital transformation, and inclusive growth as key areas for joint efforts.

Indraneel Chitale, Member of the Board of Governors, IIM Jammu, and Managing Partner at Chitale Bandhu, noted that such forums are crucial for bridging the gap between theory and practice.

Shaping the Leaders of Tomorrow: What Industry Looks for in Young Talent

The Power of Networking: How Industry Interactions Can Open Doors

Learning Beyond Books: Role of Industry in Making Education More Practical

Senior leaders from leading organizations including Siemens, Vodafone Intelligent Systems, Cummins, Bajaj Allianz, Tata Motors, EY, UBS, Mastercard, and Mondelez participated in the discussions.

Dr. Mahesh Gadekar and Dr. Baljeet Singh from IIM Jammu said the conference created new opportunities for enhancing student readiness and deepening corporate engagement.
