Deputy CM Surinder Kumar Choudhary Inaugurates Awareness Camp, Distributes Rs. 12.76 Lakh in Educational Assistance
RAJOURI: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary today inaugurated an awareness-cum-financial distribution camp under the Jammu and Kashmir Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (JKBOCWWB) Schemes at Dak Banglow, Nowshera.
Organized by the Labour Department, Rajouri, the camp saw the distribution of Rs. 12,76,000 as educational assistance among 263 beneficiaries. In addition, the Deputy Chief Minister handed over Labour Cards to registered construction workers.
The event was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Nowshera, Pritam Lal Thapa, Pradyot Gupta, Assistant Labour Commissioner Rajouri, along with a large number of residents and beneficiaries from the Nowshera constituency.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Chief Minister urged Labour Department officials to ensure maximum coverage of beneficiaries under various welfare schemes. He emphasized the need for dedicated efforts to extend benefits such as death assistance, chronic disease support, permanent disability assistance, maternity benefits, marriage assistance, and scholarships for workers’ children.
Assistant Labour Commissioner Rajouri also briefed attendees about the department’s progress and achievements, highlighting various welfare initiatives, including JKBOCWWB schemes. He explained the registration process and documentation required for construction workers to avail benefits under these schemes.
