Dubai: Ahead of India’s high-voltage clash against Pakistan in Dubai, vice-captain Shubman Gill took time out to share batting tips with players from the Hong Kong team.

In a video shared by Hong Kong Cricket on X, Gill advised youngsters not to overthink while batting and to back their shots with confidence.

“Practice a lot. The more you think, the worse it gets. You have to think as little as possible. Being in the zone means playing without overthinking,” Gill said in the clip.

Placed in Group B with Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, Hong Kong have struggled in the Asia Cup, suffering defeats against both Bangladesh and Afghanistan, which has effectively ended their chances of reaching the Super 4s. Their final group-stage game will be against Sri Lanka on Monday.

Gill, meanwhile, has scored 598 runs in 22 T20Is at an average of 31.47 and a strike rate of 141.03, including one century and three half-centuries, with a best of 126*.

India began their Asia Cup campaign with a commanding nine-wicket victory over the UAE.
