Srinagar: A teenage boy injured in a landmine blast in Anantnag district, Jammu and Kashmir, has died, officials said on Monday.

Seventeen-year-old Shahid Yousuf succumbed to his injuries at the Army’s 92 Base Hospital.

The boy was hurt when a landmine, installed to secure the ammunition depot at Khundru, detonated on Sunday. He was initially admitted to a hospital in Anantnag before being referred to the Army hospital in Srinagar.

It remains unclear whether the boy stepped on the landmine. Officials said further details about the incident are awaited.
