RAJOURI: Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma today conducted an extensive tour of Rajouri town to review development works and assess civic amenities, with a focus on infrastructure upgrades, cleanliness, and public safety.
During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner examined the condition of manholes across the town and directed concerned departments to repair and secure all damaged or open ones on priority to prevent mishaps. Reviewing the repair works already tendered, he instructed the Public Works Department (PWD) to speed up execution, maintain quality standards, and ensure timely completion for public convenience.
Taking serious note of open wiring in several areas, the DC asked officials to prepare a detailed proposal for underground cabling, aimed at enhancing safety and improving the town’s aesthetics.
As part of his outreach, he interacted with shopkeepers, urging them to follow civic norms, keep their surroundings clean, and maintain separate bins for wet and dry waste. He appealed to all stakeholders to actively support the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in both spirit and practice.
The DC was accompanied by ACR Mohd Jhangir Khan, Tehsildar Rajouri Varinder Sharma, EXEN PDD Mohammad Rashid, EO MC Yousif ul Mir, and other concerned officers.
