Srinagar: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday announced that concrete measures will be implemented within the next 24 hours to address the issues faced by fruit growers, following his discussion with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.

Taking to micro-blogging platform X, the CM wrote: “Just spoke to Union Minister @MORTHIndia @nitin_gadkari regarding the situation along NH 44 and the disruption of connectivity with the rest of the country along this crucial route.

The frustration of fruit growers is understandable. They have shown patience initially, but seeing their hard work go to waste due to @nhidcl’s inability to stabilise the highway has tested their endurance, which is completely reasonable.

Some concrete steps will be taken within the next 24 hours to resolve this issue, but I will wait for those actions to be implemented before sharing further details about the proposed plan.”
