California: Singer Badshah has expressed heartfelt support for Punjab, paying tribute to those affected by the devastating floods that have swept across the state.

Heavy monsoon rains triggered severe flooding in several districts of Punjab, causing widespread damage to crops and infrastructure.

During his live concert in Oakland, Badshah delivered a moving homage to the resilience of Punjab, reflecting his deep emotions and faith in the state’s enduring spirit. He reminded the audience of Punjab’s history of courage and optimism.

Girkar Uthhte Hai… Uthenge… Kal Honsla Jabardast Hoga. Chardikala Kya Hai Mere Dost… Kehkar Nahin, Karkar Dikhayenge (We fall and rise again, will rise again. Our courage will be stronger. Not by words, but by actions),” Badshah declared at the concert.

Acknowledging that the state may take a year or two to fully recover, he emphasized the importance of unity.

“This is the spirit that makes Punjab eternal. No matter how high the waters rise, our courage runs even deeper. The farmers who feed our nation deserve our unwavering support, and Punjab’s Chardikala will guide us through this crisis, stronger than before,” he added.

Badshah also shared a clip from the performance on social media with the caption, “United we stand.”

The singer is currently on The Unfinished Tour, reconnecting with audiences across the United States. He began the tour earlier this month and is set to perform in major cities nationwide.

Meanwhile, the Punjab government has launched a comprehensive flood relief and rehabilitation programme in rural areas, providing financial assistance to affected families. Compensation of Rs 2 crore has already been distributed to 50 families who lost loved ones in the floods.

In total, 56 people lost their lives during the disaster, with compensation for the remaining six families expected to be disbursed soon. Authorities continue to work tirelessly to provide relief, restore agricultural lands, and safeguard the livelihoods of farmers and rural communities.
