In last night’s Asia Cup Group B clash at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Sri Lanka defeated Hong Kong by four wickets. Chasing Hong Kong’s target of 150, Sri Lanka reached 153 for 6 with seven balls to spare. Pathum Nissanka starred for the visitors with a composed 68 off 48 deliveries and was named Player of the Match. Sri Lanka had won the toss and chose to bowl first, restricting Hong Kong to 149 for 4 in their 20 overs.
Meanwhile, in Group A action at Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Cricket Stadium, the UAE secured a 42-run victory over Oman. Batting first, the UAE posted 172 for 5 in 20 overs, and then bowled Oman out for 130 in 18.4 overs.
Today, Bangladesh will face Afghanistan in Abu Dhabi, with the match scheduled to start at 8 PM IST.
