Samsung One UI 8 Update Rolls Out with AI Enhancements and Improved Security
Following the iOS 26 rollout for iPhones this week, Samsung has officially released its One UI 8 update, based on Android 16, in select regions. The update is initially available for the latest Galaxy S25 series, with plans to extend support to 2024 flagship devices and foldables later this year.
Samsung began testing One UI 8 through a beta program a few weeks ago, prioritizing its newest models before gradually rolling it out to mid-range A series devices. The update is also preloaded on the new Watch 8 series and is compatible with the latest Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 models.
One UI 8 Update: Supported Samsung Devices
Currently, the One UI 8 update is rolling out to select regions, with India expected to receive it soon. Devices receiving the update include:
- Galaxy S25
- Galaxy S25 Plus
- Galaxy S25 Ultra
Key improvements include real-time AI interactions, both visual and text-based, with faster responses thanks to on-device processing in certain cases. The update also introduces additional built-in AI tools for enhanced user experience.
Security has been strengthened with improved privacy tools, ensuring devices remain protected against major hacking threats. Samsung’s Knox security measures continue to safeguard sensitive data on devices running One UI 8.
Samsung confirmed that the following devices will receive the One UI 8 update in the coming months:
- Galaxy S24 series
- Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6
- Galaxy S24 FE
