Hyderabad: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday dismissed US President Donald Trump’s claims of intervening to prevent an Indo-Pak conflict after Operation Sindoor, asserting that the action against terrorists was never halted due to any third-party mediation.

Addressing the ‘Hyderabad Liberation Day’ celebrations organised by the Union government, he stated that Operation Sindoor would resume if any future terrorist attacks occur.

“There are some who suggest that the ceasefire between India and Pakistan happened due to external intervention. Let me make this clear: the operation against terrorists was not suspended because of anyone’s involvement,” Singh said.

He added, “Some claim that the operation between India and Pakistan was stopped by someone. That is not true. Even Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, has acknowledged that India rejected any third-party role in the conflict.”

Singh also noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reiterated that the matter is strictly bilateral and does not permit third-party interference.
