Senior officers from the Health and Medical Education Department also joined the launch alongside the Minister.

Addressing the occasion, Minister Itoo urged health department officials to extend this unique women’s health outreach campaign to every corner of Jammu and Kashmir. She emphasized the importance of engaging all stakeholders, starting from the Panchayat level, to ensure the campaign’s objectives are fully realized.

The Minister also highlighted the need for widespread awareness through electronic, print, and social media channels, so that the maximum number of people can benefit from the initiative. Expressing her gratitude to the Prime Minister, she welcomed the launch of a dedicated campaign focused on women’s health and well-being.

The ‘Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar’ Abhiyaan is considered the largest-ever health outreach program for women in India. Over one lakh health camps will be conducted nationwide from 17th September to 2nd October, at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, Community Health Centres (CHCs), district hospitals, and other government health facilities. Daily health camps will also operate in all government health centers.

This intensified nationwide campaign aims to provide women-centric preventive and curative health services at the community level. It focuses on screening, early detection, and treatment linkages for non-communicable diseases, anemia, tuberculosis, and sickle cell disease. In addition, it promotes maternal, child, and adolescent health through antenatal care, immunization, nutrition, menstrual hygiene, lifestyle, and mental health awareness programs.
