SRINAGAR: The Divisional Administration has cleared the backlog of stranded fruit-laden trucks, ensuring smooth traffic movement on the National Highway. Over the past two days, 4,873 trucks were evacuated—2,239 via the National Highway and 2,634 through the Mughal Road—under the supervision of IG Traffic.

The final batch of 500 trucks is set to leave Qazigund tonight, completing the evacuation drive. The operation was carried out under the close monitoring of Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, who has been holding daily reviews with all stakeholder departments to expedite highway restoration, streamline traffic, and address growers’ concerns.

In parallel, the administration has also facilitated the movement of Valley-bound trucks carrying essential supplies including LPG, fuel, fresh produce, and life-saving medicines to ensure adequate local availability.
