Jammu: The Border Security Force (BSF) launched a search operation on Saturday after detecting the movement of a Pakistani drone along the International Border near here, officials said.

The drone was reportedly seen crossing into Indian territory near Jajowal village in the RS Pura sector around 7 pm, they added.

BSF personnel immediately initiated a search operation in the areas under Border Outposts Chakroi and Jugnuchak. The operation was ongoing when the last updates were received, officials noted.

Meanwhile, authorities in Anantnag district, Jammu and Kashmir, imposed a ban on the flying of drones, UAVs, and other aerial devices citing security concerns.

Earlier, on September 16, BSF troops recovered an AK assault rifle and a magazine near the fence at Border Outpost Budhwar during a search operation following reports of suspicious movement.
