RAMBAN: The District Administration of Ramban, in coordination with the District Police, Child Welfare Committee (CWC), and Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), has successfully reunited a 14-year-old girl from Chhattisgarh with her parents after verifying her family details.
The girl was initially found on June 22, 2022, by Ramban Police and handed over to CWC Ramban. During her time in care, she stayed at Nari Niketan Doda, Government Girls’ Shelter Home Trikuta Nagar Jammu, Nari Niketan Udhampur, and later at Parisha Ramban. Today, she was formally handed over to her extended family at the CWC office in Ramban, in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan, SSP Arun Gupta, Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak, and officials from CWC, JJB Ramban, and Mission Vatsalya.
Deputy Commissioner Khan praised the tireless efforts of CWC Ramban, particularly Chairperson Nighat Ghani and JJB Member Shah Niwaz, for tracing the girl’s family and facilitating her return. He expressed hope that the CWC would continue to serve with the same dedication and commitment.
SSP Arun Gupta also commended the efforts of CWC and JJB Ramban in supporting children in distress and assured full support for such initiatives.
The girl’s parents and family extended heartfelt gratitude to the District Administration, Ramban Police, CWC Ramban, and JJB for reuniting them with their daughter and for providing her care, support, and opportunities for social and educational development during her stay.
