Anantnag: A video circulating on social media on Sunday showed twin girls from Anantnag inviting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Kashmir, both to witness its beauty and to assist flood victims.

Zainab and Zaiba, eight-year-olds from the Kokarnag area of south Kashmir, were recorded speaking with BJP leader Ravinder Raina during his visit to the Jablipora Fruit Mandi. Raina was there to console horticulture traders who had suffered significant losses due to recent landslide-induced highway blockages.

The twins expressed their wish for the Prime Minister to come to the valley.

“We want Modi to visit Kashmir because it is truly beautiful. His visit would add to the valley’s charm,” Zainab said, receiving cheers from those around her. “Our Kashmir is beautiful,” she added.

When asked if they wanted to meet Modi, the girls responded enthusiastically, “Yes. We want him to come to our Kashmir, either in summer or winter. We are requesting him again.”

They also highlighted the hardships faced by their community due to the floods. “Our bridge was washed away in the rain. Apple traders and orchard owners suffered huge losses,” Zaiba said.

Additionally, the twins called for a cold storage facility to preserve fruits in the region.

“There should be a store to keep fruits,” one of them suggested. When Raina asked if they meant a cold storage, the girls nodded.

“We want to store apples there because they are one of our fruits loved across India,” Zainab explained. She added with a smile, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away,” prompting laughter from the crowd.
