New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday extended Navratri greetings to the nation, wishing citizens renewed strength and faith.
In a post on X, he wrote: “Infinite Navratri greetings to all of you. May this sacred festival, filled with devotion, courage, restraint, and determination, bring new strength and faith into everyone’s life. Jai Mata Di.”
Sharadiya Navratri, celebrated in the lunar month of Ashwin, is a nine-night festival honoring Goddess Durga and her divine feminine energy. Each day is dedicated to a different form of the goddess, representing strength, compassion, and wisdom.
Highlighting the first day of the festival, PM Modi said Monday is devoted to Maa Shailputri. “On this auspicious day of Maa Shailputri’s worship, I pray that Mata’s affection and blessings bring good fortune and good health to everyone,” he added.
Navratri is marked by fasting, devotional songs, Garba and Dandiya performances, and elaborate rituals that create a festive atmosphere across the country.
Later in the day, the Prime Minister will visit Tripura to perform pooja and darshan, and inaugurate the redevelopment of the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple Complex at Matabari. He will also travel to Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura, where he will lay the foundation stone of development projects worth over ₹5,100 crore in Itanagar and address a public gathering.
