What Is the Chrome Security Issue?
According to CERT-In, key components of the Chrome browser are vulnerable and could be exploited for data theft or phishing attacks. The vulnerabilities include:
- Type Confusion in V8
- Heap Buffer Overflow in ANGLE
- Use-After-Free in Dawn and WebRTC
A remote attacker could exploit these flaws by convincing a user to visit a specially crafted web page.
The affected Chrome versions are:
- Windows/Mac: Versions prior to 140.0.7339.185/.186
- Linux: Versions prior to 140.0.7339.185
