NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has the ability to make the impossible possible, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan said on Monday, highlighting his strong ties with global leaders, including US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Chinese President Xi Jinping, all of whom have referred to Modi as their good friend.

Speaking at an event to release two collections of the prime minister’s speeches, Radhakrishnan noted that despite the United States imposing a 50% tariff on India, Trump has consistently praised Modi as a close friend.

“Though the US has levied a 50% duty on India, Trump keeps saying, ‘Modi ji is my great friend.’ Even in such circumstances, he never positions himself against Modi,” Radhakrishnan said.

The vice president also highlighted Modi’s relationship with Chinese President Xi, stating that “despite differences in international politics, Xi remains a good friend of Modi.” He added that Modi is similarly close to Russian President Putin, emphasizing that such relationships demonstrate why the prime minister “makes the impossible possible.”

Radhakrishnan further praised Modi’s approach, saying the prime minister works with a selfless commitment to the masses, without expecting anything in return.

At the same event, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chair Harivansh remarked that Modi “speaks the language of the people and advocates for them.”

Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw added that prior to Modi’s tenure, government schemes often functioned as “band-aids.” Since Modi took office, however, he has transformed their outreach and effectiveness on a much larger scale. Vaishnaw highlighted that Modi uses politics as a tool for public service, with every decision guided by the greater good of society.
