Srinagar, : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator and Leader of Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, Sunil Sharma, on Monday clarified that there is currently no plan for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit the Union Territory.

Sharma made the statement while speaking to reporters in Srinagar after inaugurating an exhibition celebrating Modi’s life and achievements on the occasion of his 75th birthday.

Responding to questions about a possible visit, Sharma said the BJP’s J&K unit had no information on the matter. “At present, there is no programme for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir. We have not received any intimation regarding this,” he said. He added that the media would be promptly informed once any official confirmation is received.

During the exhibition, Sharma highlighted Modi’s leadership and the impact of his policies on India’s socio-economic landscape. The exhibition featured photographs, documents, and visual materials showcasing Modi’s political journey, achievements, and initiatives over the years.

“The exhibition aims to connect people, particularly the younger generation, with Prime Minister Modi’s life, struggles, and vision for the nation,” Sharma said.

The event also included discussions on developmental schemes launched under the Modi government and was attended by party workers.

Sharma reiterated the BJP’s commitment to strengthening its presence in Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing that the state leadership remains focused on organizational work, outreach, and addressing local concerns.
