BUDGAM: The AYUSH Health & Wellness Centre in Kenihama celebrated the 10th Ayurveda Day today with a series of activities under this year’s theme, “Ayurveda for People & Planet.” The event was organized under the guidance of District AYUSH Officer Budgam, Dr. Firdous Malik.
Speaking at the occasion, Medical Officer Dr. Nusrat Bashir emphasized the significance of Ayurveda, describing it not merely as a healthcare system but as a holistic science of life rooted in the harmony between individuals and their environment. She noted that celebrating Ayurveda Day underscores a shared commitment to leveraging the full potential of Ayurveda for global health and a sustainable planet.
The programme featured lectures on Ayurveda’s role in promoting healthy living and managing diseases. Free medical check-ups were offered, along with the distribution of disease-specific medicines to patients. Additionally, Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials were shared to raise public awareness about preventive healthcare practices.
An awareness session on Yoga was also conducted, highlighting its benefits for physical and mental well-being. The event included Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) screenings, with special attention given to anaemia screening for those in need.
