Samsung Galaxy S25 FE: A Refined ‘Fan Edition’ Experience
Samsung’s Fan Edition (FE) models have always sparked interest by catering directly to consumer preferences. The new Galaxy S25 FE builds on that tradition, offering a more polished version than its predecessors. But with a price tag of Rs 59,999, does it have what it takes to compete in the crowded mid-premium segment?
The FE Premium Effect
The Galaxy S25 FE has slimmed down significantly, now measuring 7.4mm thick (down from 8mm on the S24 FE) and weighing 190 grams (previously 213 grams). This makes it comfortable to hold, with a secure grip thanks to its flat aluminum frame. Like the standard S25 models, it carries an IP68 rating, adding durability to its premium feel.
The frosted glass back, particularly in the blue variant we tested, adds elegance, while the familiar triple-camera setup continues Samsung’s S-series design legacy. The phone’s lighter build and premium materials finally give it a credible place among Samsung’s flagship devices.
The FE Display Charm
The S25 FE sports a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with an LTPO panel, allowing the 120Hz refresh rate to adapt dynamically to your usage. Bright and vibrant, the display peaks at 1,900 nits and supports HDR10+, delivering sharp and punchy visuals for streaming and gaming.
Powered by Exynos
Under the hood, the S25 FE runs on the Exynos 2400 chipset, paired with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage, delivering smooth performance for daily tasks. While a 12GB RAM variant would have been preferable to match competitors, the phone handles most apps and multitasking efficiently.
In benchmarks, the Exynos 2400 shows a slight edge over the 2400e, but we did notice some heating during gaming and camera use—likely fixable via future software updates. Overall, this isn’t a device aimed at power users but sits comfortably below Samsung’s top-tier flagships.
Galaxy AI & Software Features
The S25 FE runs Android 16 with One UI 8, bringing a polished interface ahead of Google’s Pixel 10 launch. The Material Expressive 3 design enhances the UI, while Galaxy AI and Gemini features remain easily accessible. Samsung promises 7 years of OS and security updates, extending support up to Android 23 in 2031.
Cameras You Can Count On
The FE retains the triple-camera setup: a 50MP wide sensor with OIS, an 8MP telephoto lens with OIS, and a 12MP ultrawide lens. The main camera captures clear images, though colors appear slightly washed out compared to the typical vibrant Samsung look.
The telephoto lens provides reasonable zoom quality, and the ultrawide maintains detail, albeit with mixed colors. Low-light performance is effective, with OIS helping reduce noise and enhance clarity.
Battery & Charging
Despite its slimmer design, the S25 FE houses a 4,900mAh battery, larger than its predecessor. Charging speeds have increased to 45W (charger not included). While it struggled to complete the PCMark battery test, real-world use over a week showed a day’s worth of battery life, with about 5 hours of screen-on time—average by today’s standards. Improved thermal efficiency or newer battery tech could enhance endurance further.
Verdict: The Galaxy S25 FE successfully elevates the Fan Edition experience with premium design, a dynamic display, and reliable performance. While it’s not a powerhouse, it offers a compelling package for those seeking flagship-like features at a more accessible price point.
