Sopore: An 85-year-old man lost his life after a wild bear attacked him in the Latishat Tujar area of Sopore on Wednesday morning.
The victim, identified as Mohd Rustum Lone, son of Ab Khaliq Lone, was reportedly in his orchard between 8 and 9 am when the attack occurred. The assault left him critically injured, and he later succumbed to his wounds.
The incident has sparked panic in the locality. A wildlife team has been dispatched to the area, and the police are also on the scene. Authorities have taken cognizance of the case, and further investigations are underway.
