India take on Bangladesh in crucial Super Four clash of Asia Cup 2025

India will lock horns with Bangladesh in a pivotal Super Four encounter of the Asia Cup 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday. A victory for either side will bring them significantly closer to a spot in the final.

Under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, India top the Super Four table after a dominant win over Pakistan, which also boosted their net run rate to +0.689. Bangladesh, meanwhile, have one win from their opening Super Four match and sit third with a net run rate of +0.121.

The teams’ T20I head-to-head record heavily favors India, who have won 16 of their 17 encounters against Bangladesh. However, the Tigers arrive in Dubai on the back of a strong win over Sri Lanka and will aim to carry that momentum forward.

The Dubai pitch, which previously assisted spinners during the group stage, has played faster in the Super Four matches, allowing batters to play more freely. Both games in this stage have been won by the chasing side, with winning totals hovering around 170. Captains winning the toss are therefore expected to opt for fielding first.

India’s spin attack—Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy, and Axar Patel—has been effective in controlling the middle overs, picking up key wickets and restricting runs. In batting, Abhishek Sharma has impressed with his high strike rate, while Shubman Gill has regained form after a slow start to the tournament.

Bangladesh will need to negotiate India’s spinners cautiously and aim to strike early against the Indian openers to build pressure. How these critical phases unfold could prove decisive in determining the match outcome.
