JAMMU: As part of the community service initiatives under Sewa Parv-2025 and to commemorate NSS Day, the NSS volunteers of Government College for Women, Parade Ground, visited a local Old Age Home today. The program, conducted under the guidance of the NSS Programme Officers, aimed to promote empathy, care, and social responsibility.
During the visit, the volunteers spent quality time with the elderly residents, listening to their stories and understanding their needs. They engaged the seniors in light cultural activities, songs, and conversations, bringing smiles and creating a warm, cheerful atmosphere. The students also presented fruits and essential items as a gesture of compassion and solidarity.
The interaction not only brightened the day for the elderly but also provided the volunteers with valuable life lessons. The event concluded with encouraging words from NSS Programme Officers Dr. Gurpreet Kour and Dr. Atiya Syed, who highlighted that such initiatives reflect the true spirit of the National Service Scheme, based on the principle of “Not Me But You.”
