PM Modi to Launch Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana; 75 Lakh Women in Bihar to Get ₹10,000 Each

PATNA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch Bihar’s Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana on Friday, under which 75 lakh women in the state will receive Rs 10,000 each directly in their bank accounts.

The Rs 7,500-crore scheme, an initiative of Bihar’s NDA government, aims to empower women by promoting self-employment and livelihood opportunities.

The prime minister will inaugurate the program virtually from Delhi, while Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and other ministers will join via video conference from Patna.

The launch comes at a politically significant time ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections.

A senior official said, “Under the scheme, financial support will be provided to one woman from each family to pursue livelihood activities of their choice, promoting both economic independence and social empowerment.”

Each beneficiary will receive an initial grant of Rs 10,000 through direct benefit transfer, with the possibility of further financial assistance of up to Rs 2 lakh in subsequent phases.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary tweeted, “A historic day for the daughters and sisters of Bihar. PM Narendra Modi Ji will transfer a total of Rs 7,500 crore – Rs 10,000 each to 75 lakh women beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana through video conferencing.”

He added, “This initiative will not only provide financial aid for self-employment but also serve as a strong step towards making women self-reliant and empowered.”
