BANDIPORA: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), Regional Office Chandigarh, in collaboration with the Directorate of Samagra Shiksha, School Education Department, Kashmir, organized a mega Aadhaar Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU) camp at HSS Nadihal, Bandipora.

The camp was conducted under the supervision of Chief Education Officer (CEO) Bandipora, along with ZEO Bandipora, DNO Aadhaar, and other Aadhaar officials. It saw enthusiastic participation from students, parents, and school authorities, ensuring smooth biometric updates without disrupting academic activities. The initiative has notably strengthened outreach in rural areas.

Special focus was given to children aged 0–5 years and 15–17 years, as these age groups are critical for Aadhaar biometric updates. The exercise helps maintain accurate Aadhaar records, minimizing errors in names, dates of birth, and biometric details.

Accurate Aadhaar information is essential for students appearing in competitive exams such as JEE, NEET, UPSC, and other national-level tests, where Aadhaar-based verification is mandatory. Updated records also facilitate hassle-free access to scholarships, welfare schemes, higher education admissions, and services like passport issuance.

Officials from UIDAI’s Regional Office Chandigarh emphasized that Aadhaar is more than an identity document—it is a gateway to opportunities. Timely biometric updates protect students from potential obstacles in their academic and professional journeys.

State Project Manager, UIDAI J&K, urged parents to ensure their children participate in biometric updates to keep their Aadhaar records accurate and active.
