LG Sinha Highlights Biodiversity, Felicitates J&K Heroes at ‘Pride of J&K’ Awards
SRINAGAR: “For a Viksit Bharat and rapid growth, we must uphold both ecological and economic integrity,” said Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today. He emphasized that securing biodiversity should be a national mission and called upon all sections of society to work together for the protection, restoration, and regeneration of natural resources.
The Lieutenant Governor made these remarks at the ‘Pride of J&K’ award ceremony, organized by the Network 18 Group in Srinagar. The event honored individuals and organizations who have been pillars of hope and contributors to the development of Jammu and Kashmir, especially during times of disaster.
LG Sinha felicitated the Army, NDRF, SDRF, J&K Police personnel, NGOs, and Civil Administration officials for their exceptional and selfless service during the recent natural catastrophe in the Union Territory. “These heroes provided hope and aid amid destruction. The Pride of J&K Award recognizes their courage, selflessness, and outstanding contributions to rescue and relief operations under extremely challenging circumstances,” he said.
He further noted that initiatives like Network 18’s awards inspire citizens to actively participate in community development. LG Sinha reaffirmed the Government of India’s commitment, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to restoring Jammu and Kashmir’s development momentum and ensuring a return to normal life.
Addressing security concerns, he urged citizens to support the police and army in combating terrorism and separatism. “The ecosystem of separatist elements is now on its last breath. The Army, J&K Police, and all security agencies have been empowered to decisively neutralize terrorists and their sympathizers,” he said.
The ceremony was attended by Shri Brajesh Kumar Singh, Group Editor-Convergence, Network 18 Group, senior editors, officials from the Army, Civil and Police administrations, representatives of NGOs, and prominent citizens from various fields.
